ANDREW JAMIESON An Electrician by trade, Andrew was working on a typical Australian life when things started going wrong. He came to Asia to get away... but found himself being drawn into the Asian Culture. He has since returned to Australia and is now taking over the family business. |

ANDY GRAY A frequent visitor to Wat Opot, Andy lives in Japan with his wife and three daughters. He usually brings some friends with him for a couple of days and the experiences have always been very memorable for both our children and his guest. |

ANNA REDSAND A teacher and award winning author, Anna lives in New Mexico, USA with her daughter Cheyenne. They were both in Cambodia in November of 2008 and spent several days at the Wat Opot Children’s Community. She is presently working on her second book while finishing up her teaching career. |

HAROLD HURLBERT A United Methodist Pastor for 27 years, Harold recently began a new career as a trainer and counselor in grief therapy for the aging. He has his B.S. Degree in Secondary Education, a Masters of Divinity Degree, and CAS studies in Adult education with focus on grief and aging. |

ELAINE HARVEY A Poetess and Registered Nurse from Canada, Elaine first came to Volunteer at Wat Opot Children’s Community toward the end of 2007 and eventually got involved in working with HIV and AIDS patients in Phnom Penh. She is now back in Canada working and writing poetry when she can. |

GAIL GUTRADT Retired from a successful business career, Gail came to Wat Opot as a Volunteer in 2006. She came to give but got much more then she was expecting. She now spends her time writing and raising awareness and support for our program. A full length book will be out soon. |

David Calleja Has his Masters Degree in Social Science from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. David has taught English in Asia and worked as a volunteer for NGO’s in Cambodia. He has now returned to Australia but continues to write about his travels. |

FIONA NEWSOME A maker of jewelry in New Zealand, Fiona came to the Wat Opot Children’s Community for only a few hours in August of 2007 to work with our children. That experience has had a profound effect on her life and she is now making plans to return in July of 2009. |

EN CHAN PISEY A resident of Wat Opot since before his mothers death from AIDS nearly 6 years ago, Pisey has taken advantage of every opportunity and is now not only a Great Artist but wants to be a writer as well. We are very proud to be able to feature some of his work on this site. |

JANE OLIVIER Born in Canada but raised in South Africa, Jane is passionate about nature and the environment. She has done relief and development work in several countries, much of it being with children. She is a gifted writer who shares her passions through stories, some of which she has permitted to be published on this site. |

CAROLINE BROISSAND Caroline is a nurse from England who first came to Wat Opot in November of 2009. She fell in love with Cambodia and applied for a position with another organization and now has a job in Mondulkiri. She still visits us on holidays and weekends when she is not doing Yoga. She is also a writer and a poet. |

WAYNE DALE MATTHYSSE A Disabled Veteran of the Viet Nam War, Wayne went to Cambodia to repay a debt but found a life instead. He is a Co-Founder of Partners in Compassion / Cambodia and presently oversees the activities of the Wat Opot Children’s Community. |

MARIJKE FROWIJN Originally from the Netherlands she moved to New Zealand and has spent much of her life there. She is a seamstress, artist, and writer, who spent a couple of weeks volunteering in the Wat Opot Community and is now seriously considering coming back with her husband for a longer term to help set up our Arts and Crafts room. |

SREY AUN NOV A high school drop out who believed it was her Karma that kept her from having a good life, until one day when she realized there was no one to blame except herself. She now works with the Wat Opot children and plans to start University classes this year. Her writings reflect her personal Journey and, like her, are an inspiration to the children she works with. |

Naomi Sophia Rose Naomi was 14 and from Santa Cruz, California, when she came to Wat Opot in December of 2010 with her parents. For her it was an experience to remember. At the end of 8th grade her class constructed and wrote a poetry book. Her theme was about her experience at Wat Opot and these are some of the poems. |
