The Wat Opot Children's CommunityMemorial Service for Christchurch

Work started in the morning for preparation of the Evening Worship Service.

Mr. Ryozo, a Japanese volunteer with Project Friends, lined up all of the bricks, with the help of some of the children. They had no idea what he was doing but were happy to help him do something that they usually get yelled at for doing.

After lighting the candles, the children sat quietly for several minutes meditating and then Louk Phors led us in a special memorial service for the victims of the Earthquake, some of whom were friends and past volunteers of Wat Opot.

In times like this words are not necessary and often only get in the way… and so,

To the people of Christchurch, New Zealand

Know that our Thoughts and our Meditations are with you in this time of tribulation.
